Go East, Go East to East Coast!!

The 3 weeks semester break brings back lots of memory. Too bored of the West Coast life, I traveled with my family to the East Coast to get away from the hectic life, the craps and the shits in the city. Sandy beaches, the melody of sea waves, crystal clear water and many more, the answer to these is Cherating.
Located 40km north of Kuantan, Cherating is a paradise to me. Though famous for its Club Med, I didnt book a room down there.. too expensive for me. Nah, I was there for beaches and food, not luxary accomodation. Hahah. Wait a minute, FOOD? Yeah tats right, food. East Coast have food that is comparable with the cha kueh tiow, prawn mee, nasi lemak you normally see. Haha. In fact, the first thing I did after I checked into the hotel is to cari makan. Just beside the hotel, there was a restaurant serving a special dish, something we should never miss whenever we go to the East Coast-Stuffed Crab

the first dish I ordered in East Coast. Doesnt look like crab,
isnt it?

and wrapped with flour. Taste totally diffrent from
the crab we used to eat. So tasty till I took
half and hour enjoying this dish. Yummy!!

Well, this what I did for the first day down there, as we arrived there in the evening. The next day, we went to Chukai, a small town in Terengganu located 10km north of Cherating. We met up with my father's friend, who happened to live in this town, and he became our tour guide of the day.

First, he took us to his office. Well, just like any other ordinary office, there is always desk, chair and computer. But as I looked around, I found out something special located in his office. And thus I decided to take the photo:

Yup, thats right, it was the weirdest clock I have ever seen, Anticlockwise Clock.. lol..

My father's friend was a successful roofing contractor down there. For side income, he set up bird nests upstairs of his office. Though we were not allowed to take photos upstairs,as it will disturb the birds, he did showed us some of his harvest.

Seeing us getting more interested in bird nest, he decided to take us to another of his bird nest farm away from the town. It haven ready though, so there were no birds. Therefore, I managed to take a shot of the interior of the bird nest farm:

After touring us for the bird nest thingy, he showed us around the town. Well, a rather small town, it was busy after all though. Splitted into Chinese and Malay area, its just any ordinary town you would see anywhere. But what gained my attention the most is this:

Serves one of the best coffee in Malaysia. Far better than Old Town Kopitiam. Never miss this when you are in east coast. The food they serves brings u back to the 40's and 50's. Cool and very classical.

Back to Cherating in the evening. We decided to walk along the beach to relax our mind. And we just realised that there was a sandcastle building competition in the afternoon. Although we missed it, but the masterpieces were still displayed along the beaches.







Looking at the beautiful seas, we could not resist ourselves, and thus we jumped into the sea and swam for half and hour. At nite, we had dinner at the same place. Once again, I ordered stuff crab. Gee... it just so tasty.

Third day was our last day in east coast. And we gotta check out at 12pm. Thinking of yesterday sandcastles, me n my sis decided to build one for our own before we leave the hotel. Here is our masterpiece.. lol.

Though it was not as nice as yesterday's, we were kindda satisfied with it. Well, we were noob sandcastle builder after all...lol

After we checked out, we drove south back to Kuantan and stopped by for lunch before headed back to KL. This is the place we had our lunch:

Pak Su Restaurant. Even the Menteri Besar of Pahang loves to eat here. Yup, tats right, all halal.We had fish, prawn, and other wonderful seafood available.

When we were in the hotel, my parents got fascinated with some batik painting in the hotel room. Thus, our last destination before going back to KL is the local batik centre

And so, we headed west and went back home. Well, I've been there 3 times liao, and still, I could not get bored, and I wanna come here again. Well my friends, perhaps organising a trip to Chearating one day? lol...

Do Ghost and Spirits exist?

Do Ghost and Spirits exist? Well, this debatable question was asked for more than a thousand years time. Until now, nobody can really tell whether it is true or not. Some of them claim that they can see these stuffs, while the rest cant. And if ghost and spirits really exist, is there any explanation behind it? In term of scientific explanation? Sounds ridiculous isnt it? How could we relate science and matters from the other world? Well, in fact, they are related, though it is not proven yet, but somehow, a hypothesis could be made to explain this problem.

Personally, I believe there are spirits and ghost. So what is a ghost? Ghost are emotionally unstable spirits. Therefore, what is spirits? Before I answer this question, lets go back to the basic of human body. When a human consume food, he or she actually stored energy into his or her body. Part of the energy will be used for daily activities and functioning of organs. While the leftover energy is stored in the body. As energy could not be destroyed, when a human dies, the energy contained in the body will began to release from the dead body, and form some kind of energy which in the shape of the dead body. This form of energy is the spirit, and mysteriously the intelligence of the human is released together with the internal energy of the body.

Well, this may already explained the existence of spirits, but why some people could see spirits, while others couldnt? Before that, lets consider the type of energy of the spirits. The fact that only certain people could see spirits is because energy of spirits is actually an electromagnetic radiation. In an electromagnetic wave, its wavelength which ranges from 380nm-750nm could only seen by normal human eyes. The reason why spirits could be both visible and invisible is because, the wavelength of the spirits energy is actually lies exactly below or above the wavelength of visible ranges of electromagnetic wave. Therefore, a slight changes of ability of eyesight, where their visible ranges of wavelength is slightly stretched could enable certain people to see these spirits. This also further explained why some animals, which could see infrared and UV light, such as dog , is said to have the ability to see spirits.

Besides that, a chemical medium, when exposed to eye lens, may enable a human to have the ability to see spirits. This, may explain the myth of putting a drop of dog's tears in a human eyes, causing he or she to have the ability to see spirits. The chemical compound in the dog eyes, will react with the human retina, forming a new chemical medium which will stretch the visible ranges of wavelength. This chemical medium, may have the same compound of digital camera lens, which is why a photo shot from a digital camera is able to detect the existence of spirits.

So far, I could only find this the most reasonable explanation behind the existence of spirits. It is just an hypothesis though, maybe be true, maybe be false. But, I hope one day scientists and psychologists may work together to determine whether this hypothesis is right or wrong. It wont be easy, but whoever find and proves the solution behind the existence of spirits, definitely will earn a nobel prize. lolx.......

Top 3 Running Gags by Our Lecturers

Hehe, Studying in Monash is fun. Why leh? Besides its friendly environment, but the most important of all is the jokes that made by our lecturers. Here are the top 3 most frequent running gags created by our lecturers:

1) Face Problem
Created by Eric Pang, our tutor in Electrical Systems. When he asked us if we have any problem, ask him, he came out the sentence: " Anyone got FACE PROBLEM, please look for me."this missunderstoodly meant in Malay" Siapa ada MASALAH MUKA, sila jumpa saya." Lol... haha......

2) Ping Pang Ball
Once again, created by Eric Pang. During our first lab, we were required to build a simple robot, where one of the materials includes a table tennis ball. When he explain and mention the materials, instead of Ping Pong Ball or Table Tennis ball, he called it "Ping Pang Ball", a direct translation and sound from the mandarin word "Ping Pang Qiu" lol...... hehe, we wonder y he called so, maybe cause of his surname? haha, since then, we sometimes called him "Eric the Ping Pang Ball"... lolx

3)Move On!!!!
Dr Jefferey Chiang, our Engineering Structures lecturer's favorite motto. he often used it and shoot at us during our tutorials, where we discuss our truss project. When he found out we discuss unnecessary stuff for the project, he often scolded us : "Why do u care such unimportant stuff, just MOVE ON for more important stuff!!!!!" hehe, since then, we used it when we got problem in our truss project, where we would often say" Fucked it la, just MOVE ON!!!" hehhe

Hahaha, well, to all my friends, if got anymore suggestion on this running gags stuff, dun hestitate to comment and suggest to me, I will keep on update this post as u give me more suggestion.. Arigato.. hehehhe

The TRUSSING Project

Oh crap!!! Speaking of this project, it gave me goosebumps >.< ,and it took like half of my time in seven weeks just to complete this project. What I meant was my Engineering Structures Project 1, a unit which is a foundation of Civil Engineering. In this project, we like... gotta pretend tat we are groups of engineers, tendering for building the best truss to support the roof in the Shizuoka World Cup 2002 football stadium, and we have 7 weeks to complete this project. And we have to form a group of 5 persons, which consist of my friends, Lip Boon, who is the group leader, Kee Siang, Tom and Jerry and me, naming our group "YouCube"( Adapted from the famous sharing video website YouTube, though nothing connected with this website) Our group name and logo, YouCube( nothing connected with YouTube,
its just our name for our group project, no means of plagarism)

For this project, we have to do lots of tedious calculation, including calculating the loads acting on it, the reaction tat support the truss. Hehe... our truss design

But one of the most hectic part is to use Method of section and joints to calculate every member, ie: rods in the truss. Sounds easy isnt it? But one calculation wrong will cause the whole project to get wrong. And this is exactly happened to us many many times, before we finally got the right values. Not only that, if we found out that one of the member will buckle or yield, we have to start all over again, analyze the structure, and redo the calculation.
Towards the day of presentation, which was on 4 days ago, we gotta come back to Monash in the weekends just to complete this project. Even after all the hectic calculation, we still gotta prepare the slides for presentation and reports. Thank god, we manage to finish in time, and prepare ourselves for the presentation. Whew!!


But tats not the end. I heard those students under Dr Jefferey Chiang who presented on Monday session, were shot kaw kaw by Dr Jeffrey, who is famous for his sterness, and his motto" MOVE ON!!"... lolx :p...This gave us even more pressure for the presentation, as we were shot few times during tutorials, as we were not discussing our project during that time. And finally, the moment of truth had finally arrived. On that day, we were the fourth group who were asked to present. After the first 3 groups presented, and finally. its our turn to present. Gee

We gave it our best during presentation. Lip Boon, Kee Siang, Tom and Jerry and me were doing very good in our presentation, and we manage to make Dr Jefferey laughed... lol.... by the word "aweeeeeeesome" in our truss.. lol.... The secret weapon: Aweeeesome... lol

He was almost kena zha too, when asking us y we didnt incline our truss, which we gotta prove ourselves tat we did an assumption tat it is horizontal for easier calculation, by showing our slides.... gee, after all the hectic weeks, the project, and me of course, finally UNTRUSSED with our hard work paid off which ends up very well...... whew....
Gosh, honestly, this was the most boring project I have done. Thankfully the next project for Eng. Structures required us to build a bridge, which will be fun. Hahha, I tell more bout it after that project end next time.....

Revival

Gosh, its been a while since I write a blog. Its like... , more than 2 years, hehe, my old blog "Journey of an Unpolished guy" was rather dull and emo ( Well, the title tells everything on how emo it was).. lolx... I guess, for a change, I created another new blog:"A Drip of Ink" to view my ideas in a more interesting yet simple manner. Hope u guys could give me some feedback on my blog, so I could improve further. Well, I am a noob blogger after all... lolx
